Bounce Ball guide
How hopping and scoring work, how to land in the centre, when to chase gems and how to handle moving tiles.
How Bounce Ball works
The ball hops forward on its own, one tile per hop, in time with the music. You only control where it is from side to side. Each hop has to land on the next glowing tile; if the ball comes down beside it, it falls into the void and the run is over.
Controls
- Phone and tablet: drag your finger left and right anywhere on the screen. The ball follows the movement of your finger, not its position, so you can start dragging anywhere.
- Computer: move the mouse left and right, or hold ← → (A / D).
- Music: turn it on or off in the menu, or press M.
Scoring
- A normal landing scores 1 point.
- Landing near the centre of a tile is a Perfect and scores 2 points. Perfects in a row show a streak counter.
- Gems float above some hops. Pass through one at the top of the hop for 3 bonus points.
How the difficulty rises
- Hops get quicker as you go, so you have less time to move between tiles.
- Tiles get narrower after about 15 tiles and again after about 40, and some extra-small tiles appear later.
- Coloured tiles that slide from side to side appear after the first dozen tiles and become more common over time.
- The colour theme changes every 25 tiles, which is a handy way to know how far you’ve come.
Tips for a higher score
- Use small, smooth movements. Big swipes overshoot, especially on narrow tiles.
- For moving tiles, aim for where the tile will be when you land, not where it is when you jump.
- Perfects double your points, so steady centre landings beat risky gem chasing.
- Only go for a gem when it is roughly on the way to the next tile.
- On a computer, the mouse gives finer control than the arrow keys.
FAQ
How do I get a Perfect?
Land close to the centre of the tile. A Perfect is worth 2 points instead of 1.
What are the gems for?
Each gem is worth 3 bonus points. Collect it at the top of a hop.
Do I need to tap to jump?
No. The ball hops by itself; you only move it left and right.
Can I play with a mouse?
Yes. Move the mouse left and right.
Bounce Ball
The ball hops on its own. Slide left and right so it lands on every glowing tile.
